It’s always
tough to meet up with the rest of the guests at 4:30am when everyone is half
asleep, but I did already know Martha and David from the last trip and
Christianne from Villa Markisa.
We got some Mie
Goreng "to go". Yum! My favorite! And headed off to the airport
where we met Graham. While we waited for
Graham to organize all of our bags, we sat on the floor and ate our
breakfast. J
This flight was
only an hour and a half and we crammed a few taxis full of luggage and made it
to the boat.
Then we dove
three dives the very first day at Lion’s Rock!
Woo Hoo!
3 - Ceratosoma sinuatum
4 - Phyllodesmium longicirrum
5 - Dermatobranchus sp.
6 - Flabellina rubrolineata
7 - Juvenile Pteraeolidia ianthina
This was really interesting. I didn't know it, but this Blue Dragon Nudi only turns to its blue color once it eats enough food. Only then does it look like the adult (which I shot next). I also found an ENORMOUS one later in the trip - as big as my hand!
8 - Pteraeolidia ianthina
9 - Unidentia angelveldesi
This one is named after one of the malacologists that Christianne dives with frequently.
10 - Glossodoris rufomarginata
11 - Dendronotus sp.
12 - Atagema intecta
13 - Chromodoris reticulata
